Arrelious Benn Fine With Game Plan

Does Arrelious Benn get enough looks and touches? The sophomore wide receiver is okay with the way the season is going so far. Read here for more on Benn.

Arrelious Benn is one of the young stars on the 2008 Fighting Illini football team and he loves it. "I feel really good right now," Benn said. "A little sore from football, but its football and I expect that. Things are good."

Assistant Coach Mike Locksley is doing everything in his power to get Benn as many touches as possible. "Coach Locksley brought me in here to find ways to get me the ball, but on Saturday we wanted to establish our running game," Benn stated. "It's only our second game of the year. It's not all about me. I want to win games and I know I'm going to get the ball."

This is a focused team that's all about winning games and keeping the Illini in the national spotlight. Benn can see it in his teammates. "Martez (Wilson) is about winning too; he wants to win at everything even if it's lifting weights," Benn admitted.

The Big Ten season is right around the corner and the completive juices will start to flow more and more each week. But don't think for one second that Benn and his teammates will take this week's opponent Louisiana-Lafayette lightly. "We're ready for any game," said Benn. "They can play too if they couldn't they would be playing college football."
