You know their statistics. You know all the obvious things there are to know about your favorite Indiana athletes. Now here's a quick look at a few quick things you may not know in our Five Questions segment.
Today's Five Questions focuses on IU redshirt junior defensive end Ryan Phillis from Boardman, Ohio.
1. Who was your favorite athlete growing up and why?
I would say Walter Payton. I never watched him play but I've admired the way he ran the ball. Just watching old documentaries and film of back then. And I've always kind of liked the Bears. I'm a Steelers fan but the Bears have always been a close second.
2. What's your favorite place to eat in Bloomington and what do you like to eat there?
Texas Roadhouse. I get the steak and ribs combo with the fries on the side. That's what I like.
3. What's your favorite music or musical artist?
I'm an all around type of guy. But mostly country. But I like a lot of 80's music, too. I like a lot of Def Leppard, that kind of stuff. My dad always listened to that kind of stuff and it got me kind of hooked on it. As far as artists, I like Jason Aldean, I like Tim McGraw, pretty much anybody.
4. What do you want to be when you grow up if you're not playing football?
I really enjoy weight-training, strength conditioning, stuff like that. So I wouldn't mind coaching or having a strength and conditioning job somewhere. Also I like my position, defensive end. Hopefully I can find a coaching job somewhere.
5. Do you have any kind of a pre-game ritual?
I'm not outgoing or anything like that. I'm pretty much focused on what I'm doing and I don't talk before games. I'm not in a bad mood I just don't talk before games. If someone talks to me, I'll talk to them but they may not get much out of me. p>
