Indiana slips to No. 8 in rankings

Indiana may have lost to a No. 10 team for its only loss but it was enough to knock the Hoosiers down to No. 8 in the nation in this week's top 25 poll.

The Indiana men's soccer team lost more than just a match to UCLA on Sunday at Bill Armstrong Stadium.

The Hoosiers also lost their No. 1 national ranking.

North Carolina is the new No. 1 ranked team in the nation followed by Creighton, Connecticut, Notre Dame and Akron to round out the top five. UCLA comes in at No. 6 followed in the top 10 by Louisville, Indiana, New Mexico and California.

IU is back in action on Friday when it travels to face UAB. Alabama-Birmingham (2-0) checks in at No. 18 in the nation in the latest poll.
