Three players to watch vs. Bowling Green

Indiana lost a tough one last week. These three players will need to be key if the Hoosiers are to get back in the win column this week.

With different games this season, there will be two or three Indiana players that we think could come up especially big.

Here's three Indiana players in particular to keep an eye on this afternoon against Bowling Green:

1. Cody Latimer: Latimer is probably Indiana's most talented wide receiver and one of the more gifted players on the entire roster. And yet, through two games, he's been virtually invisible. Latimer has only five catches for 73 yards in the Hoosiers' first two games of the season.

I see that changing against Bowling Green. Why? Law of averages. Good receivers eventually make plays, and I think Latimer will have a big day in a huge game for the Hoosiers.

2. Bobby Richardson: The Hoosiers didn't lose to Navy last week because of anything the offense did or didn't do. It came down to the Indiana defense, or lack thereof.

So if the Hoosiers are to right the ship and get back in the win column against Bowling Green, the defense will have to make some stops. I'm betting on Richardson to play a key role. Richardson, who moved inside to defensive tackle this year, could play a prominent role in stopping the run on Saturday. If you stop the run, you can handicap an offense, and Richardson is capable of doing just that. He has 10 tackles through two games this season.

3. Ted Bolser: OK, I know that seems like a pretty easy one after the season he's had so far, but Bolser will have to again be key if the Hoosiers are to move to 2-1 this weekend.

Bolser has four touchdown receptions in the first two games. He's a big target who makes life easier for whoever is playing quarterback. If the play breaks down, Bolser is usually somewhere nearby to bail Nate Sudfeld or Tre Roberson out. If this game comes down to a big play or two, I'd bet on Bolser to make them. Top Stories
