Indiana athletics lost one of its biggest fans Monday afternoon in the rush hour crash on I-69 on the north side of Indianapolis that claimed the life of a 38-year-old Fishers man.
I know this because Michael Peed was a friend of mine. Few people I have ever encountered took Indiana University basketball any more seriously than Michael. It was his passion. Tragically, however, his life was cut short Monday when the car he was driving was rear-ended pushing him to the left and into the path of an oncoming semi truck.
I'm writing this today because Peed's family needs your help. He leaves behind a young wife and 5-year-old son. A memorial fund has been established in Michael's memory. Anyone wishing to donate can do so at any Huntington Bank branch in the Central Indiana area and designate the money to the Michael Peed Memorial Fund.
It's simply a case where the family needs your help and I wanted to pass on all the particulars to assist them in this difficult time.
