VIDEO: Defense Looks Ahead to Michigan State

The IU defense had success against Penn State. Now the question is can it happen again in East Lansing?

This week at availability Indiana safety Mark Murphy described the defensive performance against Penn State as "fun". The junior from Akron, Ohio who led the team with 10 tackles, said the game proved what the defense is capable of.

The Hoosier defense held Penn State to a net total of 70 yards rushing, a drastic improvement from its first four games. Even after the 70 yard statistic, the defense still gives up an average of 212.2 yards per game in the 2013 season.

The Michigan State offense loves to get the ball moving on the ground. The Spartans only average 178.4 yards passing per game compared to 176.6 rushing. It will be up to the IU defense to disrupt the flow of the game and they can do that by stopping the run.
