With different games this season, there will be two or three Indiana players that we think could come up especially big.
Here's three Indiana players in particular to keep an eye on today against Michigan:
1.Tevin Coleman:Coleman continues to come into his own. His 64-yard touchdown scamper last week at Michigan State gave the Hoosiers a major early momentum boost. After that Michigan State was able to bottle Coleman up, however, and made the IU offense very one dimensional.
Still, Coleman just has the look of a player that is about to have a break out game. He's on pace to become IU's first 1,000-yard rusher since Levron Williams gained more than 1,400 yards in 2001. Coleman has 557 yards and eight touchdowns in six games.
2. Greg Heban: If Heban isn't one of IU's tackling leaders that could be a good thing for the Hoosiers. The fact is when players in the secondary are Indiana's top tacklers that means the opposing offense is getting major chunks of yardage on the ground or in the air. Heban has said before that he would trade being in the middle of the pack and simply providing run support for a victory any time.
Another reason to watch Heban is that as a senior this is his first trip to the Big House. IU's last game there was 2009, Heban's redshirt season. Michigan is one of those places where everyone dreams about playing and about taking advantage of being on the big stage. You can bet those thoughts have crossed Heban's mind this week.
3.Nate Sudfeld: The sophomore quarterback needs to bounce back with a big game in a big environment. He was ineffective at times against Michigan State last week and needs to come up big for the Hoosiers to have the best opportunity to win.
In order for Sudfeld to have that chance, he has to get time in the pocket behind a banged up offensive line. If Sudfeld is on the run, then look for more of Tre Roberson in a QB platoon situation today.
