Indiana back in the mix for 2014 G Lyle

2014 guard JaQuan Lyle talks recruitment, his relationship with Tom Crean.

In a somewhat improbable turn of events, Indiana is once again a possible destination for 2014 five-star guard JaQuan Lyle.

Lyle, an Evansville native who now plays for Huntington Prep in West Virginia, decommitted from Louisville and reopened his recruitment back in early September. A large number of schools have contacted Lyle since.

Indiana was one of Lyle's finalists before choosing the Cardinals, and Tom Crean has remained a good and close relationship with the talented point guard. While it looked like the Hoosiers may not pursue Lyle again when he decommitted, the two have shown mutual interest in each other.

The media was alerted to contact between the two earlier in the week when Lyle tweeted a picture of a text message he received from Crean.

"I am in Evansville speaking," the text read. "A sold out crowd."

Lyle tweeted: "My own city loves Coach Crean more than me. I know why tho, he's a great guy. #Respect."

Lyle has already taken visits to UCONN, Kansas and Arizona, and he's at Memphis this weekend. He told he "definitely" will take a visit to Bloomington after taking his SAT on Nov. 2.

"I will for sure," Lyle said. "Depending on how our schedules mix up will determine when I'll visit. But I want to and they want me to for sure."

Lyle is the third-ranked point guard in the 2014 class, and the 11th-ranked player overall. Top Stories
