Hoops Recruiting Central: Midweek tidbits

Tom Crean paid visits to a couple of 2014 recruits on Tuesday.

UPDATE: Lyle tells AllHoosiers.com there is a "possibility" he will visit Indiana on Saturday for the Hoosiers' exhibition game against Southern Indiana.

Before I get into the new stuff, I want to go back to something I reported yesterday that has seemed to cause a bit of confusion. Devin Robinson did not cut any schools from his list. I never said he did.

My report is that, according to a source with knowledge of the situation, Robinson will choose either Indiana or Florida in early November. That does not mean Notre Dame and Oklahoma State have been cut, simply that a source is telling me Robinson will not choose either of those schools.

There were reports that followed mine saying all four finalists are still in for Robinson. And that is true. As I said, I am saying that Robinson will choose Indiana or Florida.

Now, for today's tidbits:

***Indiana coach Tom Crean visited 2014 five-star guard JaQuan Lyle at his school yesterday afternoon. Indiana seems to be a strong suitor for Lyle, a Louisville decommit.

Our Brian Snow talked with Lyle recently about his relationship with Crean.

"Coach Crean, he's a person I could talk to about anything at any time," Lyle told Snow. "We can just have a conversation without even talking about IU. I can tell he cares about me more as a person than a player. Indiana is just a great program and things are going well with them."

Lyle is scheduled to take the SAT on Nov. 2 and could begin taking visits after that.

***Crean also visited 2014 forward Max Hoetzel last night at Wilbraham and Monson Academy in Massachusetts. Hoetzel, a 6-foot-7 forward, can stretch the floor with his ability to shoot the ball.

Hoetzel does not yet have an Indiana offer, but there is significant mutual interest.

That's all for today. Thanks for reading.
