Hoetzel to visit, busy weekend shaping up

2014 forward Max Hoetzel will take an official visit to Indiana this weekend.

It's turning into a busy recruiting weekend for Indiana.

Max Hoetzel, a 2014 forward from WIlbraham and Monson Academy in Massachusetts, will take an official visit to Indiana this weekend, he told AllHoosiers.com.

Hoetzel, who has been offered by IU as we reported last night, will be in Bloomington Saturday through Monday.

"I just can't wait to get down there and check it out," he said. "I'm beyond excited."

Hoetzel has picked up interest from around the country since his transfer to Wilbraham and Monson from California. He has had from Florida and Kansas in recent weeks and picked up an offer from St. John's.

His plan is to wait until the spring to sign, but it's still possible he could commit and sign in November, he told AllHoosiers.com. If IU impresses on its visit this weekend, he may not need to take another one.

Hoetzel, a 6-foot-7 forward, is a very good perimeter shooter and models his game after Houston Rockets' forward Chandler Parsons.

In addition to Hoetzel, 2014 guard James Blackmon Jr. will be in town this weekend, and there is a "possibility" 2014 five-star guard JaQuan Lyle could be as well. Blackmon Jr. visited Kentucky for Big Blue Madness last weekend.
