Here are some of the highlights of today's weekly press conference from Indiana coach Kevin Wilson.

12:12 p.m.

Kevin Wilson's press conference is scheduled to begin shortly.

12:23 p.m.

Wilson's press conference has just begun.

Offensive players of the game are Coleman and Latimer.

He said those two were very dynamic.

Defensive player of the week was John Laihinen.

12:27 p.m.

Wilson is talking about injuries. He said he hopes that Collin Rahrig will be able to play this week after missing last week's game with a back injury.

He said he thinks Tim Bennett will be OK after coming out with a concussion.

He continues on but didn't mention Tevin Coleman's ankle yet. He did say something to the effect of the team has had some injuries and are going to need other people to step up. Not sure if that was directed at Coleman or not.

12:33 p.m.

Wilson is talking about Wisconsin. He mentioned the Indiana has had two players gain over 100 yards on the ground the last two weeks. He said Wisconsin has two players that average 100 yards rushing a game.

Wilson is now taking questions from the media.

12:36 p.m.

Wilson said Coleman "has a good ankle sprain" and for all likelihood will miss the Wisconsin game. He said it's not a major injury, not broken. But it could keep him out this week. Wilson said it's good that IU has some depth at that position with Stephen Houston and D'Angelo Roberts.

12:38 p.m.

Wilson said true freshman running back Laray Smith may be eligible for a redshirt. He hasn't played in six weeks. Played early.

Talking about Wisconsin, Wilson said there's a lot of carry over with the Badgers program from year to year. The faces change but the scheme and what they try to do remains the same. He talked about the big bodies Wisconsin has up front and how they impact the game.

Wilson is talking a lot today about the things that go into IU's offensive success. Blocks by Ted Bolser and Jacob Bailey on one of Coleman's big runs. He talked about a big stop by Ryan Thompson that got the ball back and led to a touchdown. He's talking about the way this team has responded as a team.

He's talking about how Kofi Hughes "played his tail off" Saturday despite not having a catch. He said he thought he got held up a few times. Also talked about some of the blocks he made down field.

12:46 p.m.

Wilson said David Kenney will miss the first half this week play after being called for targeting. He said he thought the call maybe should have been roughing the passer and not targeting. He has asked the league to look at it again. He said that he was told because the play was reviewed that there's nothing that can be done but he doesn't think it's a targeting violation. He suggested that maybe people need to look at the rule a little more closely.

Wilson is walking a fine line and not critizing the league because he said he thought there should have been a flag on the play. He's just not sure it was targeting in its true sense. He said he likes the rule because he thinks it's important for the direction the game is moving in. He just wishes there was a way to review it and determine if it was really targeting in the true sense.

12:50 p.m.

He said against Wisconsin you earn everything. Everything is a competitive play.

12:51 p.m.

Wilson has left the podium and his portion of the press conference has ended. Co-offensive coordinator Seth Littrell is now talking to the media. Top Stories
