Before each game this season, AllHoosiers.com will take a look into numbers that have an impact on the upcoming contest. Here are the digits that stand out in the match-up against Samford.
Number- 0: This is the number of times the Indiana program has played Samford, so there will be no history on the line Friday night, only history in the making. Zero is also the number of seniors Samford has on scholarship. The only two they do have, Hamilton Baily and Tony Thompson, are both walk-ons.
Number- 2: This is Samford head coach Bernie Seltzer's second year at Samford, having left Indiana after being an assistant to Tom Crean for the previous six years (four with the Hoosiers, two at Marquette). In his first season, Seltzer led the Bulldogs to an 11-21 record.
Number- 14: Samford's forward Tim Williams is averaging 14 points and the same number of rebounds through the Bulldog's first two games, which include a win over Martin Methodist and a loss to UT Arlington. Indiana's Noah Vonleh is also averaging 14 points per contest, along with 12.5 rebounds.
Number- 23: The number of consecutive wins the Hoosiers have in the month of November, which is good for second among active streaks in the nation behind Syracuse, who holds a 10 game advantage at 33. Indiana will look to extend that streak to 31 by the end of this November.
