Vonleh named Big Ten Freshman of the Week

For the second straight week, Noah Vonleh receives top freshman honors.

For the second time in as many weeks, Indiana forward Noah Vonleh is the Big Ten Freshman of the Week, the conference announced Monday.

It was a big week for Vonleh, who recorded three more double-doubles. The 6-foot-10 freshman has a double-double in all four games this season, the first player since Kansas State's Michael Beasley in 2007-08 to record four double-doubles to begin his career.

Vonleh had 17 points and 11 boards against LIU-Brooklyn on Tuesday, 13 points and 10 rebounds against Samford on Friday, and 18 points and 15 boards against Stony Brook on Sunday.

For the season, Vonleh is averaging an impressive 14.8 points and 12.5 rebounds.

"I wouldn't trade him for in anybody in that glass and there are a lot of great players," Indiana coach Tom Crean said Sunday. "When you start putting humility into a talented person, now you have a chance for incredible upside."
