IU to play in 2015 Maui Invitational

The Hoosiers will join a strong eight-team field in the 2015 tournament.

Indiana will play in the 2015 Maui Invitational, its first time in the early-season tournament since 2008, Tom Crean's first year with the program.

"If you can get Maui, you've got to get that on the calendar," Crean said Monday.

The Hoosiers will join Kansas, St. John's, UNLV, UCLA, Chaminade, Vanderbilt and Wake Forest on Nov. 23-25, 2015 in Maui. It's quite a strong class and schools, which should make for a strong event.

"A lot greater anticipation going into it than we did our first year," Crean said. "The beaches will still be the same and it'll be nice and sunny, but that was tough trip.

"I didn't even realize the field until I saw it today. It's obviously something that our fans will be excited about, our players will be excited about. We've been recruiting to it a little bit, we'll recruit to it even more. It gives you an incredible measuring stick early in the season."
