By the Numbers: Evansville

People obsess over statistics all the time, but are there any other numbers that stand out? A few might even surprise you

Before each game this season, AllHoosiers.com will take a look into numbers that have an impact on the upcoming contest. Here are the digits that stand out in the matchup against Evansville.

Number- 5:The number of wins each team will have when they face off against each other. Evansville comes in sporting an undefeated 5-0 record, while Indiana will look to get back on the right foot after dropping a hard fought game against Connecticut in the 2K Sports Classic.

Number- 52.7:The shooting percentage of the Purple Aces when they are shooting from beyond the arc. This percentage is good for the best in the nation, and they also hold the second-best overall shooting percentage in the country at 56.6. For comparison, Indiana is shooting 28.6 percent from three-point land and 47.2 percent overall.

Number- 86.5:This is the percentage of Evansville's points scored that have come from either freshmen or sophomores, 390 of the total 461. This has been largely helped by sophomore guard D.J. Balentine averaging 29.6 points per contest. 407 of Indiana's 528 have been scored by the underclassmen, making up just over 77 percent of the total scoring output.
