Richardson commits to Syracuse

2015 G/F Malachi Richardson chose the Orange over Indiana, Connecticut and others.

As expected, 2015 G/F Malachi Richardson committed to Syracuse on Friday afternoon. Richardson was also considering Indiana, Connecticut, Villanova, Rutgers and Arizona.

Richardson, 6-foot-5 and 175 pounds, is the third-ranked small forward in the 2015 class. He's a five-star prospect.

Richardson had been one of Indiana's primary targets in 2015, but he became concerned with the number of wings on the Indiana roster after James Blackmon Jr. committed and signed back in November.

A source told that Syracuse's pitch to RIchardson was that he could fill Trevor Cooney's role when he steps on campus.

Indiana currently does not have a commit in the 2015 class. Top Stories
