Vonleh named co-Big Ten freshman of week

Indiana's Noah Vonleh was named co-Big Ten freshman of the week Monday. It's the fourth time this season that Vonleh has earned at least a share of the weekly award.

Indiana freshman forward Noah Vonleh has been named co-Big Ten freshman of the week, the conference announced Monday.

Vonleh shares the award with former Hamilton Southeastern standout and current Michigan player Zak Irvin.

Vonleh averaged 10 points and nine rebounds in IU's victories over Nicholls State and Kennesaw State last week. In the two games, he made 7-of-10 shot from the field.

Irvin scored 12 points and pulled down a career-high six rebounds in Michigan's win over Stanford last week.

For Vonleh, it's his fourth Big Ten freshman of the week honor and the first since Dec. 9. For Irvin, it's his second freshman of the week award.
