With the three commitments this past weekend, Indiana is now up to 21. Initially, I had written that IU had 20 commitments but I found one that we had reported earlier this month that had slipped through the cracks.
This is what he told Benjamin Worgull of Scout.com's Wisconsin site, BadgerNation.com.
Worgull wrote, "Tindal initially said he was planning on making a final decision this week, but admitted that late scholarships from South Carolina and TCU have caused him to pause. Tindal said he is considering visits the next two weekends, but nothing is set in stone.''
Worgull then quoted Tindal as saying, "I don't know what I am going to do yet," said Tindal. "I am still working it out. I really don't know if I want to take any more visits. They are kind of getting tiring."
Tindal told Worgull that his official to Wisconsin closed the gap, but that he is still committed to the Hoosiers.
"Indiana is still my number one right now," said Tindal. "I am just going to wait it out and see."
Including Tindal, here is the latest breakdown of the needs that Indiana has filled to date.
Of the 21 commits, 11 are on the offensive side of the ball and 10 are on defense.
Let's look at where the 20 players land in terms of ratings by Scout.com.
Indiana has picked up two 4-star recruits: WR Dominque Booth on Jan. 7 and OLB Tegray Scales earlier in the day on Sunday.
The bulk of Indiana's recruiting class falls into the 3-star rating. Fifteen of the remaining 19 players that have committed to the Hoosiers to date are 3-star recruits. The other four are 2-star recruits.
As for positions, Indiana has now picked up three outside linebackers, three defensive tackles, one defensive end and three cornerbacks on the defensive side of the ball.
On offense, Indiana has secured three tackles, one guard, three wide receivers, two running backs, a tight end and a quarterback.
As for states, the Hoosiers have clearly been focusing on the state of Ohio. Seven of the 20 recruits are from Ohio and five from Indiana. The state of Georgia has three as does Florida, with one each from New York, California and Illinois.
The following is a list of all of the players that have committed to play football at Indiana as part of the class of 2014.
