Indiana has picked up another commitment on the defensive side of the ball.
Greg Gooch, a 6-1, 240-pound middle linebacker from Lyman High School in Longwood, Fla., has given Indiana a verbal commitment according to a report in the Orlando Sentinel Monday night.
Scout.com's Dave Berk reported earlier in the evening that it appeared Gooch was headed to the Hoosiers.
He becomes IU's 25th commit which would the Hoosiers' maximum number if everyone signs.
Gooch is IU's fifth player in this class to come from the state of Florida in this class and the second commit from Florida in as many days. Sunday, IU picked up a commitment from Will Dawkins, a wide receiver from Vero Beach (Fla.) High School.
The news of Gooch's decision came a few hours after Indiana learned it did not get a commitment from Phenix City, Ala. Safety Christian Campbell. Campbell, who was believed to be choosing Monday between Indiana and Minnesota, made an surprise announcement that he would attend Penn State.
