Signing Day: Running Blog

Here is a running look at what players have signed with Indiana today and what time the school received their faxed national letters of intent.

Signing Day is upon us and will have updates throughout the morning as Indiana receives National Letter of Intent faxes from members of the class of 2014.

Here is a running blog of all the action up-to-date with the most recent reports on top:

11:01 a.m.

Three more letters are in, and that should do it. The Hoosiers have signed linebacker Robert McCray III, defensive back Zeke Walker and DL Derrian Meminger. That brings the class total to 26, one more than the Hoosiers had room for. Walker was the surprising one. We will have more on him later.

9:33 a.m.

It's official. Derrian Meminger from Hancock Central High School in Sparta, Ga. has signed his letter with IU, bumping this class up to 25. Meminger also received interest from Cincinnati and Louisville. He visited Louisville at the end of January, but he's announced today he will become a Hoosier.

Chris Covington, a running back from Brookwook High School in Snellville, Ga. has also committed to IU, according to the IU football Twitter account. Covington had verbally committed to Georgia Southern previously before signing his letter of intent with IU today, putting IU's class at 26.

9:30 a.m.

Robert McCray III, an inside linebacker from Rockdale County High School (Ga.), becomes the 23rd recruit to sign for IU's 2014 class. He made an official visit to Bloomington to meet with Kevin Wilson and his staff, along with seven other prospects, this past weekend.

As I was typing, the IU football team also announced that defensive back Zeke Walker, from Brookland Cayce High School (S.C.), has officially signed to bump IU's class up to 24. He visited back on Jan. 17.

9:22 a.m.

Greg Gooch, the final player to commit in this class on Monday night, has signed with Indiana. He is the 22nd player to officially sign. Gooch is a 3-star OLB from Longwood, Fla.

With the news on Airius Moore flipping to N.C. State, the only commit not to sign is Waynedriko Smith, the cornerback out of Maitland, Fla. But there was talk the last several days that he may not go to Indiana after all. We had left him on our commitment board until we received official word but the fact he hasn't signed may be the answer we've been looking for there.

9:03 a.m.'s Dave Berk just reported that IU commit Airius Moore has flipped to North Carolina State. Berk will have a full report. He tweeted moments ago that he is on the phone with Moore and finding out the story at this time. Now that's a signing day surprise.

8:52 a.m.

Simmie Cobbs, the wide receiver from Oak Park (Ill.) River Forest and Oak Park High School is the 21st player overall to officially sign today with the Hoosiers. Cobbs was a Purdue commit who flipped to Indiana over the weekend after making an official visit to Bloomington.

Still waiting official word on Meminger, the defensive lineman from Hancock Central High School in Sparta. Ga. Cincinnati and Louisville had been the other schools mentioned as having interest in Meminger. He had made a visit to Louisville at the end of January.

8:41 a.m.

Indiana has officially announced the signing of RB Tommy Mister from Chicago St. Rita. Unofficially, there are reports that IU has a surprise signing in Derrian Meminger, a 6-3, 270-pound defensive lineman from Hancock Central High School in Sparta, Ga. Stay tuned for more info on that one.

8:33 a.m.

Sometimes the fax machine spits these out more quickly than at other times. Plus there's a confirmation process that IU goes through before officially announcing the NLI.

That said, Indiana has picked up three more signings bringing the total to 13 for the day and 19 overall when you count the six players who had enrolled at the semester. The latest to sign were CB Tony Fields from Tallahassee (Fla.) Godby. Fields committed to IU on Jan. 22. His signing was officially announced at 8:26 a.m. Another was DT Jermane Conyers from Rossville (Ga.) Ridgeland. Conyers committed to IU on July 19. His signing was announced at 8:28 a.m.

And then while I was typing this latest update a third signing was announced. That is RB Devine Redding from Cleveland (Ohio) Glenville.

8:22 a.m.

It's official on Barwick, the DT from Cincinnati Summit Country Day. IU has officially announced it has received his NLI. Barwick was the first player to commit to IU in the class of 2014 back on June 2, 2013.

8:15 a.m.

Waiting for IU to send out official confirmations on signings but there are reports that both DT Mike Barwick from Cincinnati (Ohio) Summit Country Day and DT Jermane Conyers from Rossville (Ga.) Ridgeland have also both signed.

Until IU announces them officially though, I'll stick with my numbers at nine that have faxed them in this morning and 15 overall in this class.

7:59 a.m.

Player No. 9 for the morning was Kiante Walton, a cornerback from Columbus (Ga.) Carver. Walton was one of three players to give IU their verbal commitments over the weekend after making official visits.

7:53 a.m.

The eighth player to send in his fax this morning was West Milton (Ohio) Milton-Union OG Wes Martin. Martin was the fourth player in this class to commit back on June 16. That makes eight to fax in their NLI's this morning and 14 overall when you count the six that were enrolled at the semester.

7:32 a.m.

Two more have signed. The latest is Vero Beach (Fla.) WR Will Dawkins, who is one of the players who committed to IU after an official visit over the weekend. The other one that came in recently was 4-star OLB Tegray Scales from Cincinnati (Ohio) Colerain. Scales' NLI was received at 7:27 a.m.

7:19 a.m.

Two more are in, making the total five that have faxed them in this morning and a total of 11 if you count the six that were enrolled at the semester.

The latest two were WR Coray Keel from Snellville (Ga.) South Gwinnett High School at 7:16 a.m. and CB Donovan Clark from Fort Wayne (Ind.) South at 7:19 a.m.

7:13 a.m.

The third recruit of the morning to send in his fax and have it confirmed by IU was DE Nick Carovillano from Cincinnati (Ohio) St. Xavier. That one came in at 7:13 a.m. The second one, which was confirmed at 7:07 a.m., was WR J-Shun Harris of Fishers (Ind.) High School.

7:04 a.m.

After IU announced the six players who had enrolled at the semester in the class of 2014, it waited to confirmed the first player to submit a letter of intent. It didn't take long. At 7:04 a.m., that first player was OLB Dameon Willis from Cleveland (Ohio) St. Ignatius.

7 a.m.

The first six names were the easy ones as they were the players that enrolled at the semester and will be eligible to participate in Spring Football. That group of six includes: OT Delroy Baker, QB Zander Diamont, OT Tim Gardner, OT DeAndre Herron, WR Dominique Booth and TE Jordan Fuchs.

After those six names were posted on IU's Twitter feed site, the tweet was simple: It read, "Who's next, #HoosierNation?!?! Top Stories
