More 'marquee games' on next year's schedule

Indiana coach Tom Crean teased the idea about more big name non-conference opponents on his radio show Monday night. Read more here.

Tom Crean and Indiana have been publicly criticized for their non-conference schedule this season and the lack of marquee names on it. ESPN's Dan Dakich repeatedly made comments about said schedule on Saturday's broadcast of IU's 82-64 loss at Purdue.

Well, answers are coming.

On his weekly radio how Monday night, Crean teased next year's schedule, and suggested it will have much more so-called star power than this year's one did.

"There will be a few more marquee names on there," Crean said.

Indiana is already scheduled to play Louisville and Butler at neutral sites, and the Hoosiers will also play another marquee opponent in the Big Ten/ACC Challenge.

Crean also said Monday that his team will play in an exempt tournament as it has in the past, which will include four home games. Crean said the fourth game will be against "a very, very good team."

That's interesting, to say the least. It's just a tease, but it does get you thinking: What other teams will be on that schedule? Top Stories
