Williams is B1G Freshman of Week

Troy Williams earned Big Ten freshman of the week honors Monday following big games in the final two regular season games of the season.

Troy Williams is playing some of his best basketball of the season heading into the Big Ten Tournament this week.

The 6-7 Indiana freshman forward averaged 17 points and four rebounds per game last week and hit 71.4 percent of his shots from the field. The performance earned him Big Ten freshman of the week honors.

Williams scored 18 points against Nebraska on 7-of-12 shooting and then had 16 Saturday at Michigan. In that game, Williams hit 8-of-9 shots from the field.

Williams is IU's first Big Ten freshman of the week since Noah Vonleh earned the honor on Feb. 3. Vonleh was the freshman of the week seven times this season.
