Report: Big Ten tournament adds extra day

The Big Ten tournament will start a day early beginning next year, according to a report from Inside the Hall.

To accommodate Maryland and Rutgers, who will join the Big Ten on July 1, the conference will also add two games to the conference tournament, making 13 in total.

Next year's Big Ten tournament will be held at the United Center in Chicago, and will begin on Wednesday. The seeding format has not yet been decided upon, according to the Inside the Hall report.

Here's how it will work: There will be two games Wednesday, four games Thursday, four on Friday, two on Saturday and one on Sunday. After Wednesday, the tournament follows its current format. Top Stories
