Indiana baseball opens B1G today

Indiana opens Big Ten baseball play today with a three-game weekend series against Michigan. The Hoosiers have swept the Wolverines that past two seasons. Joey DeNato is on the mound for IU in today's first game of the series.

Indiana will open up Big Ten baseball action today with the first game of a three-game weekend series with Michigan at Bart Kaufman Field.

The Hoosiers (10-8) are coming off a 9-3 victory over No. 9 Louisville on Wednesday. The Hoosiers will have ace lefty Joey DeNato on the hill. DeNato is 3-1 this season with a 1.95 ERA. Michigan (8-12-1) will will counter with righty Ben Ballentine, who is 2-0 with a 2.08 ERA this season.

Indiana has swept Michigan the last two seasons and IU's seniors are 8-1 against the Wolverines in their careers. Game time Friday is 4:05 p.m.

The teams will square off on Saturday at 2:05 p.m. when the Hoosiers send Kyle Hart to the mound. The third game of the series is set for Sunday at 1:05 p.m. on the Big Ten Network when Christian Morris will go for the Hoosiers.

Indiana's staff earned run average of 2.69 leads the Big Ten by a large margin. Second is Ohio State at 3.33.
