Virginia Tech transfer Trevor Thompson is ready to make his official visits.

Thompson, a 6-foot-11 big man who just completed his freshman season with the Hokies, will visit Ohio State April 11-12, Indiana April 18-19, and then Purdue and Butler following those visits, while likely taking a weekend off, Thompson told The Purdue and Butler dates have not yet been set.

Thompson averaged 5.0 points and 4.7 rebounds for Virginia Tech last season. He chose to leave after the Hokies made a coaching change and hired former Marquette coach Buzz Williams.

Thompson is originally from Indianapolis, playing his high school ball at Ben Davis. He is a former AAU teammate of Indiana's Devin Davis and Collin Hartman with the Eric Gordon All-Stars.

Thompson and his family met with Indiana coaches Tom Crean and Kenny Johnson last week, as well as coaches from the other three schools while on spring break in Florida. The big man came away "impressed" with the Hoosiers.

"I love them," Thompson said of Indiana. "I had a really good visit with them."

According to our Brian Snow, Thompson is most likely to choose the Buckeyes, which is why they will get his first visit.

Thompson told he does not yet know whether he will be eligible to play next season because of the coaching change at Virginia Tech. Stay tuned. Top Stories
