An exclusive interview with Tom Crean

Tom Crean sat down this week with's Justin Albers and Terry Hutchens for an exclusive interview on several IU topics. Over the next three days, we will have several stories from the interview on specific topics of interest to Indiana basketball fans. On the final day, we'll have a complete transcript in Q&A form from the interview, too.

The 2013-14 Indiana University basketball season is in the books.

A 17-15 overall record and a 7-11 mark in Big Ten play brought with it a sense of disappointment from an IU fan base just one year removed from a No. 1 seed in the NCAA Tournament.

So where does Indiana go from here?

Indiana head coach Tom Crean sat down with's Justin Albers and Terry Hutchens earlier this week for an exclusive interview where he answered questions on a wide range of topics.

Do you see Devin Davis playing the 5 position next season?

What are your thoughts on the improvement of Hanner Mosquera-Perea?

Do you expect Collin Hartman to be back by next season after tearing his ACL last month?

Are you planning to take the team out of the United States this offseason for a trip to play some outside competition?

What are your thoughts on both the non-conference and Big Ten schedules will the 2014 non-conference schedule in particular be upgraded?

Rather than just do one or two stories that would basically be in a Q&A format, the staff will do a series of stories over the next three days that look at specific topics that Crean provided perspective on.

When the series has been completed, we will also run a story that is a complete recap in Q&A form of the exclusive interview with Crean.

Today, we have two stories:

The first is on soon-to-be-junior forward Hanner Mosquera-Perea. Crean on Perea: 'He's been easily distracted.'

The second is on Peter Jurkin, who is still looking to make his first major impact in an Indiana uniform. Will that day come? Will Jurkin be able to play next season?

Coming up Thursday and Friday, we will also have stories about Crean's shifting philosophy on walk-on tryouts, something on Devin Davis, a story about recruiting the state of Indiana, and something about the schedule. And there could be other stories, too.

Check back daily over the next few days to read new thoughts from Crean in's exclusive interview with the IU coach this week. Top Stories
