Roberson leads Cream to 24-14 win

Tre Roberson threw for 176 yards and a score and also had a 65-yard TD scamper in the Cream's 24-14 victory over the Crimson Saturday afternoon at Memorial Stadium in the annual Spring Game. The crowd was 9,231 on a beautiful spring day in Bloomington. Shane Wynn caught five passes for 141 yards and a TD toss from Roberson. Nate Sudfeld threw for 273 yards for the Crimson.

Tre Roberson had a memorable performance last November in the season finale against Purdue for the Old Oaken Bucket.The Indiana quarterback threw for 273 yards and six touchdowns in that game, and ran for 154 yards on 21 carries. IU won the game 56-36 at Memorial Stadium.

It wasn't a regular season game Saturday afternoon but Roberson once again shined. This time he threw for 176 yards and one touchdown and also had a 65-yard TD run to lead the Cream to a 24-14 victory over the Crimson in IU's Spring Game at Memorial Stadium.

The announced attendance was 9,231 on a beautiful Saturday afternoon with the temperatures in the mid-70's.

The captains of the victorious Cream team were Shane Wynn, Flo Hardin, Collin Rahrig and Bobby Richardson.

Wynn had a big game at the wide receiver position, catching five balls for 141 yards and a touchdown. The TD catch came on a 16-yard pass from Roberson with 2:36 to play in the third quarter. Roberson and Wynn also hooked up on a 60-yard pass completion in the game.

Other Cream team highlights were turned in by Tevin Coleman, who ran for 61 yards on three carries, and Anthony Davis who had 41 yards on five carries including a 30-yard TD run early in the fourth quarter.

On the defensive side, Cream DT Nate Hoff led all players with seven tackles, including one sack. Rashard Fant had six tackles, a tackle for loss and an interception.

On the Crimson side, quarterback Nate Sudfeld completed 29-of-40 passes for 273 yards with one touchdown and two interceptions.

Crimson tailback D'Angelo Roberts led the way with 47 yards on nine carries and Myles Graham had 38 yards on 13 carries including a pair of touchdowns. He had a 2 yard TD run in the second quarter and then later caught a 12 yard pass from Sudfeld in the fourth quarter to cap the scoring.

Defensively, LB Clyde Newton had five tackles, a half sack and an interception. Safety Chase Dutra and CB Tim Bennett each had four tackles and LB David Cooper had three tackles and a sack.

DL David Kenney played for both sides and had seven tackles and a game-high two sacks.
