Indiana baseball made it nine in a row Saturday with an 11-3 victory over Morehead State in the second game of a three-game series. The final game is Sunday at 1:05 p.m. at Bart Kaufman Field.

The No. 23 Hoosiers were 12-10 in late March before going on an offensive tear and wining nine in a row. Now the Hoosiers are 21-10 and still have six games remaining in a nine-game homestand.

The game was played Saturday before a record crowd of 3,101 at Bart Kaufman Field.

IU staked Morehead State to a 3-0 lead Saturday going into the bottom of the second. But the Hoosiers would score the game's final 11 runs and pound out 15 hits.

Here is the report provided by IU media relations.

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – No. 23 Indiana (21-10) used 15 hits to down Morehead State (16-18) on Saturday afternoon, 11-3. The Hoosiers and Eagles played in front of a regular-season record crowd of 3,101 at Bart Kaufman Field.

Ten different Hoosiers finished with a hit, including five players with multiple hits. Brad Hartong (2-for-3), Tim O'Conner (1-for-4) and Kyle Schwarber (2-for-5) all had two RBI in the game.

Sam Travis extended his hitting streak to 10 games with a single in the seventh inning. It matches his longest hitting streak of the season. Travis has had a hit in every game but three this year and in 20 of the last 21 ballgames.

Dustin DeMuth went 2-for-4 at the plate with a double to give him back-to-back multi-hit games. The senior is now batting .406 on the year.

Will Nolden and Scott Donley both also had two hits and an RBI in the win.

Starting pitcher Christian Morris (2-2) picked up the victory for Indiana, going 5.2 innings, giving up three earned runs on seven hits. Thomas Belcher came on in relief to earn a save as he pitched 3.1 scoreless frames.

After trailing 3-0 after two MSU at-bats, the Hoosiers put together a productive bottom half of the second inning to seize momentum for the rest of the afternoon.

DeMuth started the second with a double before Hartong got on base with a hit by pitch. Chad Clark followed with a walk to load the bases. O'Conner cashed in with a two-RBI single to put IU on the board.

Casey Rodrigue then hit a single to score Clark and a throwing error allowed Rodrigue and O'Conner to advance to second and third. Schwarber then reached on an error to allow both runners to score to give IU a 6-3 lead.

Donley later singled to allow Schwarber to score and Hartong drove in Indiana's last run of the inning with a single to extend the Hoosier lead, 8-3.

The score remained the same through the next 4.5 innings before IU tacked another run on in the bottom of the seventh as Luke Cureton scored on a fielder's choice by Hartong.

In the eighth, a Clark double and Cangelosi single gave Indiana its 10th run of the game before Schwarber doubled to center for his second RBI of the day, bringing in Caneglosi.

Indiana will host Morehead State in the final game of the weekend series on Sunday at 1:05 p.m. ET at Bart Kaufman Field. Top Stories
