Thompson commits to Ohio State

Virginia Tech transfer and IU target Trevor Thompson is headed to Ohio State. Indiana's search for a big man continues.

Indiana's search for a big man in the 2014 class has not yet yielded any results. That search will continue after Virginia Tech transfer Trevor Thompson said Sunday he would play at Ohio State.

Thompson took an official visit to Columbus this weekend. He was scheduled to visit Indiana next weekend and multiple reports said he wouldn't commit before making both visits. But that obviously didn't happen.

Ohio State was always the heavy favorite to land Thompson, a 6-foot-11 center, so it's not a huge surprise he'll be a Buckeye. But nevertheless, that's another capable target off the board for Tom Crean and Co. in next year's class.

Thompson is the second IU big man target to choose Ohio State in the last month. Temple transfer Anthony Lee is also headed to Columbus.

There are still a number of transfers popping up around the country, so Indiana's search is far from over.

Thompson is an Indianapolis native who began his high school career at Ben Davis. Top Stories
