The former IU guard announced at the end of the season that we would transfer from Indiana to play his final season of college basketball somewhere else.
Because Etherington will graduate from IU in May, he will be eligible to play right away this fall for the Bulldogs. Etherington's father, Bret, played his college basketball at Butler.
Etherington averaged 2.0 points and 1.6 rebounds for the Hoosiers last season. The former Hamilton Heights standout was originally part of a recruiting class that included Cody Zeller and Remy Abell. Zeller went to the NBA after his sophomore year and now both Abell and Etherington have opted to transfer. Abell will be eligible to play next season at Xavier.
IU fans won't have to wait long to see Etherington in person as the Bulldogs and Hoosiers will square off on Dec. 20 in the Crossroads Classic at Bankers Life Fieldhouse.
