Slimmed Swanigan continues to pick up offers

2016 five-star Caleb Swanigan has received several new offers this spring and he continues to dominate EYBL competition.

Caleb Swanigan, the second-ranked center in the 2016 class, is becoming quite the hot commodity this spring.

The 6-foot-8, 265-pound Swanigan has picked up offers from Louisville, Notre Dame, California, UCLA and more in the last week, and he continues to play well on the court.

Swanigan, a five-star target who already owns an offer from Indiana, is playing for Spiece this offseason and looked impressive in last weekend's Run 'N Slam tournament in Fort Wayne. He was often double teamed, but showed off an ability to step out and hit a jumper along with solid post moves.

Swanigan said he lost about 20 pounds in the last year, and he definitely looks much slimmer this year.

"Just eating healthy and just working out. It's every day. It's just a grind every day," Swanigan said. "I feel like I can get up the court easier and I'm less tired doing so."

Swanigan said he still hears from Indiana often and is excited to hear what former AAU teammate and 2014 Indiana signee James Blackmon Jr. tells him about his experience in Bloomington throughout next year.

Blackmon Jr. said he talks to Swanigan about joining him at IU on a regular basis.

"I talk to him all the time. He's friends with my little brother," Blackmon Jr. said. "I always get on him and say that we need a big guy like that. So I think that he's definitely interested."

Swanigan also has offers from Georgetown, Illinois, Michigan State, Tennessee, and others. Top Stories
