Dante Exum: I would have gone to Indiana

Dante Exum, projected to be a top five pick in the NBA Draft, said he would have gone to Indiana if he'd gone to college.

Dante Exum, an Australian guard who is likely to be drafted in the top five of Thursday's NBA Draft, told ESPN on Monday that he would have attended Indiana if he'd chosen to go to college.

Exum visited Bloomington in January 2013, the only college he took a visit to. Exum ultimately chose to go right to the NBA, and it's hard to blame him given where he is projected to go.

Sure, it's a story of what could have been, but it's also incredibly impressive that Indiana coach Tom Crean could make such an impact on a great international player like Exum. That fact should help Crean and his staff recruit other players, the fact Exum would have chosen Indiana over the likes of Duke, Kentucky, Kansas and others.

"Dante maintains that he would have chosen to play for Tom Crean at Indiana, the lone school he actually visited, if he had opted to go the college route," ESPN's Jeff Goodman wrote.
