On Saturday's this summer, I will provide a tracker that looks at Indiana baseball players playing at the next level.
On Sunday's, throughout the year, I'll have the same thing for former IU basketball players.
Each time I'll focus on five or six players. Here's the second installment, with players who are all playing overseas. The first installment ran last Sunday:
*** Earl Calloway: Caloway played last season in Spain with Unicaja. He has also played with Cajasol in Spain and Cibona in Croatia. Last year, he played in 39 games and averaged 6.2 points and 2.1 assists in an average of 16.7 minutes per game.
*** Marco Killingsworth: Killingsworth played in Bulgaria for Lukoil Academic Sofia. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to find any statistics from Marco from last season. I'll continue to look but if anyone knows them and wants to pass them on I'll put them up.
*** Jeff Newton: Newton continues to make a good living in Japan playing in Okinawa with the Ryukyu Golden Kings. As the starting center, Newton played in 56 games a year ago. He averaged 21.6 minutes per game, averaging 4.0 points and 6.3 rebounds.
*** DeAndre Thomas: Thomas played in 49 games last season with the Windsor Express in Canada. He averaged 24 minutes per game, scoring 12.5 points and grabbing 6.6 rebounds per game.
*** Joey Shaw: Shaw played in Austria with the Ece Bulls Kapfenberg. He started and averaged 13.3 points and 4.4 rebounds.
*** Malik Story: Story is playing in Spain with Araberri Basket Club. He averaged 14.7 points and 3.3 rebounds per game a year ago.
That brings us up-to-date on several former players in two installments. When the season gets underway or when there is new information as to where some players will play next season I will pass that along in this space.
