Jackson talks recruiting, improvement

Indiana was on hand to watch 2016 forward Justin Jackson on Saturday in Indianapolis.

Canadian basketball is on the rise, and 2016 forward Justin Jackson is part of it.

The last two No. 1 overall picks in the NBA Draft (Anthony Bennett, Andrew Wiggins) were Canadians, and Jackson hopes to join them someday.

The 6-foot-7 Jackson attends FIndlay Prep in Nevada and plays AAU ball for Canada Elite. He was in action at the adidas Invitational in Indianapolis this week, and Indiana coaches Tom Crean and Tim Buckley watched one of his games on Saturday.

Jackson listed Illinois, UNLV and Arizona when asked which schools are showing the most interest in him to this point. Jackson said Indiana was his first offer.

"I haven't talked to them about any visits as of yet," Jackson said.

Jackson is an incredibly versatile player who can score in a variety of ways. He's got a pretty complete package.

"I can score from the inside, I can score from the outside," Jackson said. "And if my shot's not falling, I'm a playmaker first so I can distribute for my teammates."
