Indiana offers 2016 center Joey Brunk

The Hoosiers watched the local prospect on Saturday, and offered him Tuesday.

Indiana first expressed interest in Joey Brunk more than a year ago, but it did its due diligence on the 2016 center before offering him a scholarship.

After Tom Crean and Tim Buckley watched Brunk on Saturday at the adidas Invitational, the Hoosiers offered him on Tuesday. was on hand for that game on Saturday.

Brunk, 6-foot-9 and 210 pounds, is the 65th-ranked player in the 2016 class. The Southport, Ind. native plays for Under Armour Grind AAU and has improved significantly since the beginning of the spring.

Brunk is the second-ranked prospect in the state of Indiana behind Cathedral's Eron Gordon.

I saw Brunk play in early May and wasn't overly impressed. I watched him again on Saturday and really thought he could fit well with what Crean is trying to do at Indiana. Brunk held his own against elite Canadian prospect Justin Jackson, and posted a double-double against the Canadian Elite team in front of Crean and Buckley.

Brunk also has offers from Butler, Iowa, New Mexico, Purdue and Xavier. He has taken recent unofficial visits to both Butler and Purdue.
