2016 C Joey Brunk talks Indiana offer

Indiana offered 2016 center Joey Brunk earlier this week. He shares his thoughts on the offer.

It's been a busy week for 2016 center Joey Brunk, who played well at the adidas Invitational in Indianapolis last weekend.

Brunk, from Southport High School, picked up offers from both Indiana and Michigan State this week. The 6-foot-9 Brunk already owned offers from Butler, Iowa, Ole Miss, New Mexico, Purdue and Xavier.

"It's always meaningful when any in-state school offers you and shows interest," Brunk told AllHoosiers.com of the Indiana offer. "I've known coach [Tom] Crean for awhile but their interest has picked up recently."

Crean and his staff have been diligent in their pursuit of big men in both the 2015 and 2016 classes and seem to be in good shape with several of the prospects they are recruiting. Indiana is behind a bit with Brunk, who has been pursued hard by Butler and Purdue especially, but Crean has been known to make up ground in a hurry when a player really interests him.

Brunk, who plays for Under Armour Grind AAU, had a double-double performance against the Canadian Elite team in the quarterfinals of last week's tournament. He's got a solid motor and has really developed some crafty moves around the basket in recent months.

Brunk doesn't yet know if a visit to Bloomington is in the cards for August, but he didn't rule it out.

"It's possible," he said. "I'm not sure yet."
