Victor Oladipo has always been a charismatic guy and fun player to be around, but once he steps on the court, it's all business.
Oladipo, a second-year guard for the Orlando Magic and former Indiana standout, is as serious as they come. He's eager to be the best player he can be, and he knows he has a long way to go to accomplish his goals.
And while Oladipo won't boast about what he accomplished at Indiana and in his rookie season with the Magic, some other NBA stars will. Oladipo, a member of the USA Select team, is in Las Vegas training with some of the world's best players.
"He’s a great player already," Chicago Bulls' guard Derrick Rose told NBA.com. "I love how he plays and he plays with so much confidence. He totally deserves to be up here (with team USA) and I’m already a big fan of his. I love how he takes the game so serious.
"I’m here for him if he ever needs me. I know how serious he takes it. He’s such a talent with his size, what he can do on the floor and how he reads opponents, especially defensively. He’s a big-time talent."
Added NBA MVP Kevin Durant, who is from the D.C. area like Oladipo is: "There’s so much happening for Vic in such a short period of time and I’m really excited for him. I’m so happy that he’s getting this opportunity because he is absolutely like a sponge and he’s soaking in everything. As a fellow Maryland and D.C. native I’m happy he’s doing well and I’m pulling for him."
