Two weeks after Ernie Yarborough took the head coaching job at Stetson University, the IU men’s soccer team has found his replacement.
IU head coach Todd Yeagley today announced the promotion of Kevin Robson to assistant coach. Robson will begin his duties immediately.
“We are really excited to add Kevin to our full-time staff,” Yeagley said in the press release. “We were able to work with him this past year and saw the qualities he brings that I think will make a seamless transition.
“He’s hungry and has a great personality and work rate. The players really enjoy working with him and I know he’ll be a great fit within our staff.”
Robson previously was a volunteer assistant coach for the team over the last year.
Robson also played for IU from 2003-2006, where he was a member of the 2003 and 2004 National Championship teams and 2003, 2004 and 2006 Big Ten title teams. He served as an undergraduate coach with the Hoosiers in 2007.
“I am really excited and honored to be the new Assistant Coach at Indiana University,” Robson said. “I want to thank Head Coach Todd Yeagley and Associate Head Coach Brian Maisonneuve for giving me this fantastic opportunity. They are two of the best coaches in the country and getting the chance to work with them closer and coach at my alma mater is very special to me. I can’t wait to get started and work with the very talented group of players we have returning.”
