You know their statistics. You know all the obvious things there are to know about your favorite Indiana athletes. Now here’s a quick look at a few quick things you may not know in our Five Questions segment. Today’s Five Questions focuses on IU redshirt junior offensive tackle Peyton Eckert.
1. What’s your favorite place to eat in Bloomington and what do you like to eat there?
Butch’s Deli. They have this sandwich called the Big Hoosier. It’s like 10 or 11 bucks. They do a whole French roll, and then they put an entire burger, fries, mozzarella sticks and then lettuce, tomato and everything else on there. It’s just like a stacked, foot-long burger.
2. What’s a chore you absolutely hate to do.
I would hate washing the windows. I like to mow the lawn because I’m outside, but washing the windows? It’s always dusty and I get my hands dirty.
3. Who is an athlete you looked up to growing up?
My dad named me after Walter Payton, so when I was younger I watched a lot of his highlight videos because I never got to see him play.
4. Do you have a pregame ritual? Take me through a typical pregame sequence.
I like to shave the night before; get my face nice and smooth. Wake up, watch some TV and other games going on. We listen to some nice heavy metal music in the locker room and get going.
5. Describe the most interesting class you’ve had at IU.
Leadership and Ethics. Learning a lot about the things that people consider really horrible today, were so easy for people to fall into back in the day. There were so many things that people got in trouble with doing the wrong thing. Learning from that class, it’s been a lot easier to make decisions not on the fly, but thinking about things, settling down and learning from your mistakes.
