Nick Westbrook is IU's 12th Commit

After picking up its first commit from the state of Georgia late last week, Indiana added its first commit from Florida on Sunday when WR Nick Westbrook told Kevin Wilson he wanted to be a Hoosier. Find out more here.

Nick Westbrook became Indiana’s 12th football commit on Sunday.

The 6-foot-3, 190-pound wide receiver from Lake Mary (Fla.) High School visited IU last month and committed to Indiana coach Kevin Wilson on Sunday.

He chose the Hoosiers over a top five that also included Virginia, Georgia Tech, Kentucky and Boston College.

In narrowing his top five he had told Scout.com that there was one thing in particular that had set those five schools apart from the others.

“Just the relationships I have built with the coaches. The five places that I actually had relationships with the coaches,” Westbrook said. “I was already interested in them or knew about before receiving an offer from them.”

Westbrook is a three-star wide receiver by Scout.com.

Also in breaking down his top five in a Scout.com story a few days ago, this is what Westbrook had to say about Indiana.

“I have a really good relationship with the coaches,’’ Westbrook said. “Just their offense is tailored towards me. Last year they had four receivers get over a thousand yards, so that shows they definitely know what they are doing. Also they have a really good business school, so education wise I would have a great opportunity there.”

AllHoosiers.com will update this story after we have spoken to Westbrook.
