IU picked 5th in Big Ten Soccer

The Indiana men's soccer team, the reigning Big Ten Tournament champions, have been picked fifth in the nine-team Big Ten for the 2014 season.

Indiana has been picked fifth in the Big Ten in men’s soccer, the conference announced Wednesday.

Maryland, in its first season in the Big Ten, claimed the top spot of the nine conference teams that play men’s soccer.

The Terrapins made it to the national championship game last season.

Following Maryland, the preseason picks were Michigan State, Michigan, Penn State, Indiana, Northwestern, Wisconsin, Rutgers and Ohio State.

Three Indiana players were on the preseason players to watch list including Femi Hollinger-Janzen, Tanner Thompson and Jamie Vollmer.
