IU caps off "On The Road With The Hoosiers"

Coach Kevin Wilson headlined the final event for the "On The Road With The Hoosiers" series Friday night in Bloomington. See what he had to say about the importance of getting fans to games this season.

The Indiana Athletic Department hosted the final installation of “On The Road With the Hoosiers” on Friday at Memorial Stadium.

The event included insights on the football, baseball and volleyball programs and was headlined by speeches made by each sport’s head coach, Kevin Wilson for football, Chris Lemonis for baseball and Sherry Dunbar-Kruzan for volleyball.

The crowd of alumni, fans and children became excited when the entire football team made a brief appearance, during which defensive end Bobby Richardson and center Collin Rahrig were brought up to the stage for a brief interview. The main topic the players had to talk about was the continued bonding of the team, which Richardson said was stronger than any of the four years he has been here.

When it was coach Wilson’s turn to take the stage, he had a strong message for the fans attending the event. With only six home games on the schedule this year, Wilson stressed the importance of using those six games to get into a bowl game this season, stating it all starts with the fans. He finished by saying that this group has an opportunity to do something special this season, while again stressing that getting a Hoosier home field advantage will be crucial to the team’s success.

The main thing to take away from the event was the confidence that both the players and coach Wilson had in themselves. They believe in each other, and they expect to go bowling this postseason.
