Funderburk, Mister expected to miss season

Kevin Wilson announced today at his weekly press conference that Steven Funderburk and Tommy Mister will likely miss the season due to injuries that require surgery.

Indiana football coach Kevin Wilson announced Monday at his weekly press conference that fifth year senior linebacker Steven Funderburk and true freshman tailback Tommy Mister will likely miss the season because of injuries that have required surgery.

Wilson said that Funderburk had back surgery and will be out 12-14 weeks. Funderburk contributed last season as a strong side linebacker. He first two seasons he played at Iowa Western Community College.

Mister, a true freshman from Chicago (Ill.) St. Rita, suffered a posterior cruciate ligament injury and is expected to use his redshirt season.

Wilson also said that tight ends Anthony Corsaro and Danny Friend, safety Dawson Fletcher and offensive lineman Wes Rogers continue to work through nagging injuries and are not expected to play Saturday when the Hoosiers open the season against Indiana State in a 12 p.m. ET kickoff at Memorial Stadium.
