Every Tuesday at 9 a.m., AllHoosiers.com will have its ‘On The Mend’ feature that looks at Indiana injuries and how they could potentially affect the upcoming game of the week.

For the season opener with Indiana State Saturday at Memorial Stadium, there are six players on the list that Indiana coach Kevin Wilson talked about at Monday’s press conference.

Two of them – fifth year senior linebacker Steven Funderburk and true freshman tailback Tommy Mister – appear to be lost for the season. Funderburk had back surgery and is out 12-14 weeks. Mister is scheduled to have knee surgery soon.

The other four are expected to be back much sooner. Two of them are tight ends – Anthony Corsaro and Danny Friend, one is an offensive lineman (Wes Rogers) and the other a safety (Dawson Fletcher).

Here is what Wilson had to say about them on Monday.

He said all four have had “injuries in the preseason that have limited them.’’

"They're day-to-day, week-to-week, kind of getting back in it but they've missed some of the prep time and I don't anticipate them doing a lot this week and with opening day coming it might be two or three weeks,’’ Wilson said.

Stay tuned next Tuesday for a new segment of ‘On the Mend.’
