Daily Feature: On The Mend

For the second game in a row, Indiana came away relatively injury free. The focus at this point is on when junior tight end Anthony Corsaro will be able to return.

Every Tuesday at 9 a.m., AllHoosiers.com will have its ‘On The Mend’ feature that looks at Indiana injuries and how they could potentially affect the upcoming game of the week.

As was the case in the season opener against Indiana State, IU came away from its 45-42 loss to Bowling Green with very little of concern in the injury department.

Nick Mangieri and Adarius Rayner both hobbled off the field after being shaken up during the game with minor injuries but both returned.

The one ongoing injury continues to be that of junior tight end Anthony Corsaro, expected to be one of Nate Sudfeld’s weapons in short yard situations.

IU coach Kevin Wilson said Monday that Corsaro is close to returning.

“He‘s doing some stuff,’’ Wilson said. “He practiced a little last week. Just how much they let him go, it's just he's got a stress fracture like in the bottom of his big toe area of his foot.

“But he’s close. He was practicing great in two a days and started showing up and thought it could be a potential break. They're shutting him down to quiet him down.

Stay tuned next Tuesday for a new segment of ‘On the Mend.’ Tomorrow, AllHoosiers.com’s Ben Faunce will have our weekly ‘How They Fared’ feature that looks back at how Indiana recruits did in their games last week.
