Tegray Scales has earned his first Big Ten freshman of the week honor.
The Big Ten announced on Monday that the Indiana University freshman was the co-B1G player of the week along with Minnesota quarterback Chris Streveler.
Scales, from Cincinnati (Ohio) Colerain, had five tackles, his first career sack and a quarterback hurry in IU’s 31-27 victory Saturday over No. 18 Missouri.
Scales is the first IU player to earn the award since nose tackle Ralph Green III on Nov. 25, 2013.
In three games this season, Scales has 17 tackles, one sack and 1.5 tackles for loss.
