Indiana will host 2015 guard Shake Milton for an official visit beginning on Friday afternoon. It will be the final of Milton's three scheduled official visits. Milton has already been to Oklahoma and SMU. Illinois was also included in Milton's final four, but he cancelled his official visit to Champaign after Juwan Morgan committed to Indiana.
Milton and Morgan are very close friends and were AAU teammates with MOKAN Elite. Milton, a 6-foot-4 guard, plays at Owasso High School in Oklahoma.
"He's my best friend so of course I want him to come to IU and play with me," Morgan told me on Sept. 10. "But I will be happy for him and support him regardless of where he goes."
"I will be trying to get him here though," he said, laughing.
The Indiana football team hosts Maryland in the Big Ten opener on Saturday, and the weather is expected to be great. That should help Tom Crean and the Hoosiers with Milton, especially since they are coming off of a big win against Missouri on the road.
The football game, combined with the fact the Hoosiers have landed Morgan already, may be enough to get Milton to Bloomington.
If Milton chooses elsewhere, though, it will likely be related to the fact that Indiana already has a number of talented guards on its roster. At SMU and Oklahoma, Milton may have an easier time finding early playing time. At Indiana, he'll have to work hard to earn early minutes. But even so, I believe the Hoosiers are in good shape with Milton, and they have a great opportunity to blow him away on his final visit.
