Nearly 40,000 tickets sold for Maryland game

Indiana has sold nearly 40,000 tickets for Saturday's Big Ten opener against Maryland.

Indiana has sold nearly 40,000 tickets for Saturday's Big Ten opener against Maryland at Memorial Stadium, athletic director Fred Glass told AllHoosiers.com on Friday. The school expects a number "comfortably in the 40s" once walk-up sales are factored in.

The Hoosiers pulled off their biggest upset in years last week at then-No. 18 Missouri, and the weather is expected to be favorable on Saturday afternoon. Kickoff is scheduled for 1:30 p.m.

Indiana will be wearing its chrome helmets for the game.
