It's finally that time of year: Basketball season is upon us.
Indiana's annual midnight madness event, Hoosier Hysteria, begins at 6 p.m. Saturday at Assembly Hall. Doors open at 5 p.m. and admission is free.
Indiana released the participants for both the 3-point shooting and dunk contests for Saturday and asked fans to vote for who they thought would win. The outlook for both contests complete with the participants and the favorites is below.
OUTLOOK: This is the contest to watch out for this year with Indiana's influx of shooters. The Hoosiers lacked perimeter shooting last year, but this competition should be a fun one. Ferrell is the veteran on this team so it's hard to bet against him, but Blackmon Jr. is the purest shooter of the group.
OUTLOOK: Williams is the favorite in this one, and I expect him to win it. He missed Hoosier Hysteria a year ago with an injury, so you know he's been planning his dunks for at least 12 months. We could see something really cool out of him on Saturday. [NOTE: No voting was held for the dunk contest participants.]
The scrimmage is expected to be short on Saturday, but the event will be good for Indiana fans regardless because of the number of new faces. It should be a fun event. See you at Assembly Hall.Notable Hoosier Hysteria visitors
