Grant Lillard has been named the Big Ten's defensive player of the week. He helped lead IU to a pair of victories over No. 1 Notre Dame and conference foe Michigan last week.
Indiana men’s soccer freshman Grant Lillard has been named the Big Ten’s defensive player of the week, the conference announced Monday.
Lillard, from Hinsdale (Ill.) Central, anchored IU’s back line in a week that included a 1-0 shutout over No. 1 Notre Dame and a 3-1 conference victory over Michigan on Sunday.
It’s Lillard’s first conference defensive player of the week honor and the first for IU since Colin Webb on Sept. 9 of this season.
